Overview
The purpose of the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certification is to evaluate a person’s ability to use Databricks for complex data engineering activities. With this certification, a candidate’s proficiency with a variety of Databricks tools and developer technologies—including MLflow, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Databricks CLI, and the Databricks REST API—is verified. Additionally, it assesses the capacity to construct Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines that are cleaned and optimized and to model data into a Lakehouse using generic data modeling principles.

Databricks Certifications are designed to validate your data and AI skills in the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. Whether you are new to business intelligence or looking to confirm your skills as a data analyst, machine learning professional, or data engineering professional, Databricks can help you achieve your goals.
Our exams typically have 45–60 questions. This includes non-scored questions to gather statistics for use on future exams. We allow plenty of time for these additional questions and your results will not be impacted by non-scored questions.
Exams vary in length, ranging from 90 to 120 minutes. We allow additional time to complete the exam, if necessary.
All Databricks Certification exams cost 200 USD. Please note that there are no free retakes for any Databricks Certification exam.
A Databricks Certification is valid for two years from the date it is awarded. Once certified, you will be notified in advance when your certification will expire, allowing you time to prepare for a new exam if you choose to recertify.
You are welcome to reregister and retake the exam after 14 days. You can retake the exam as many times as you would like, but you have to wait 14 days between each take. Each attempt is charged at the same price as the original exam. Databricks will not issue free retake vouchers for any exam.
